"If you are feeling as OUTRAGED as we are about the recent high rate of murder of women in this country, then please STAND WITH US.
This year our country has already seen over 50 women’s lives lost due to violence.
This is DEVASTATING and UNACCEPTABLE.
We need to stand strong together, as a community, to send a powerful message to the leaders of our country, that things need to change. WOMEN AND CHILDREN HAVE THE HUMAN RIGHT TO LIVE THEIR LIVES FREE OF VIOLENCE.
Please join us for a powerful Candlelight Vigil event on Thursday 22 November from 6pm at Liverpool Macquarie Mall (look for the big screens and that’s where you will find us). This event is part of the international 16 Days of Activism campaign to challenge violence against women and girls.
At this event we will STAND TOGETHER IN UNITY as a protest to the unnecessary deaths of women and children and to commemorate those whose lives have been lost due to violence so far in 2018.
The event will feature:
• Inspiring guest speakers, including White Ribbon Ambassador, Danny Mikati; Aunty Mae Robinson; Tracy Phillips and MORE;
• a moving shrine to honour the lives of women lost;
• a candle-lighting ceremony;
• and the names of victims of violence will be read out.
Information and resource materials will also be available for free to members of the public who would like to know more about preventing domestic and family violence in our community.
We need you to COME AND HELP US RAISE AWARENESS and make a POWERFUL STAND TOGETHER as ONE COMMUNITY against gender based violence.
Please share this event far and wide with your networks.
Yours in STRENGTH,
The Bonnie's Team"
